First picked up a ball in 1975 at Forest Hill School and that year joined the Malory Programme run by Tim Hall and Keith D’Wan. I played for Malory in the Junior National League and played representative basketball for London.
On going away to college I played for Sutton Rams under Coach Mick Kaye going on to represent Surrey. I began my coaching career picking up a fledgling ladies team for Sutton Rams. From there I never looked back, collecting league and cup trophies including a back to back double with Sutton and cups with Malory Ladies team. I was honoured to take the Sutton area and Surrey area Women’s team Head Coach’s role. In 1992 moved on to take on assistant coache roles in the Women’s National League which I found massively rewarding
After 12 straight seasons combining coaching and playing I took a nine year break. I really missed not being involved in the sport and in 2008 I was very happy to be asked to come back and take on a small junior programme. This I really enjoyed. Shortly after that I was given the opportunity to be part of the Thunder Programme, a post which I was delighted to accept. I have massively enjoyed my two seasons and rolling spell with the organisation and am relishing the opportunity to support the Club and the women’s programme in particular.
